Summer camp Packing list

SUMMER CAMP PERSONAL GEAR

Be sure all personal items are clearly marked with name and Unit Number (T125)

MANDATORY ITEMS:

• Scout Handbook

• Mess Kit

• Flashlight with extra batteries (Suggestion:  headlight for hands-free use)

• Water Bottle or Canteen

• Daypack (Small Size – to carry things around during the day)

MERIT BADGE ITEMS:

• Merit Badge Pamphlet (recommended but not required)

• Merit Badge Worksheets

  • try to complete pre-requisites to fully finish the merit badge 

• Pens or Pencils

• Notebook or Paper

• Partials Merit Badge Blue Cards (if applicable)

• Merit Badge Prerequisite Forms (if it is required)

CAMPING GEAR:

• Duffel Bag or Backpacking Bags (Suggestion: No wheels); clearly label with your name

• Sleeping Bag (must fit in the duffel bag)

• Sleeping Foam Pad

• Pillow (Suggestion: a Small one – must fit in the duffel bag)

CLOTHING:

• Scout Uniform (Class A)

  • Neckerchief/slide

  • Scout shirt

    • With properly placed patches

  • Scout belt

  • Scout shorts/pants

  • Scout socks (optional)

  • NO sash

• Troop 125 Class B T-Shirts (Suggestion: minimum 3-4)

• Troop 125 Hat

• Metal Clothes hangers (minimum 2)

• Light Jacket (Windbreaker) or Hoodie

• Thick jacket, like a thick fleece hoodie 

• Extra Pants / Shorts / T-Shirts (optional)

• Socks (Suggestion: at least 1 pair/day or minimum 4 pairs)

• Undergarments (Suggestion: at least 1 pair/day or minimum 6 pairs)

• Sleepwear:  

  • Pajamas or Sweat Pants

  •  a shirt (long sleeve preferable)

• Swimming needs

  • Towel

  • Goggles

  • Water Shoes

  • Wicking shirt (optional)

• Rain Gear (suggestion: Poncho)

• Footwear: 

  • Sturdy Hiking Boots

  •  Closed-toe sandals like Crocs for showering/swimming (optional, but highly recommended)

TOILET KIT:

• Toothbrush & Toothpaste

• Prescription Glasses (suggestion: NO Contacts)  and hard case

• Soap & Shampoo

• Bath Towel / Washcloth (as needed)

• Comb & Small Mirror (if needed)

• Deodorant / Shaving Gear (as needed)

• Emergency Toilet Paper

• Personal First Aid Kit

• Sunscreen & ChapStick/Lip balm

• Mosquito Repellent (roll-on or cream only,  NO AEROSOL CANS)

MISCELLANEOUS:

• Compass

• Watch

• Sunglasses

• Camera (Suggestion: a small one)

• Scout Pocket Knife (only if you have Totin' Chit)

• Playing cards / UNO cards

• Camping Chair

• 2 Trash bags – for used clothes

• 2 Ziploc bags (1-gallon size)

NOT ALLOWED:

• Electronics (tablets, game players, MP3 players, etc.)

• Cell phones

• Firearms / Firecrackers

• Snack foods (in your bag)

• Personal Firearms / Archery equipment / Slingshots / Ammunition / Fireworks

• Knives with blades > 3" or Fixed-blade knives

• Illicit drugs & Alcohol

• Unscout-like attitude
