Troop Policies

Meetings

Always be on time for pick up.

Example: A meeting just ended, and everyone has gone home except for one scout because his parents are late. Some of the adults cannot leave because they have to wait for everyone to get picked up.

Class A (Field Uniform) required  for all meetings unless it is fitness night which require Class B (Activity Uniform). Only exception is that you just came from a sporting event and had no time to change.

Example: Rohan just showed up to a scout meeting in street clothes. But he came from his home so that isn't allowed. But if he was busy at school or came from a sports team practice it would be fine.

Don't always go to the Scoutmaster for everything; ask the person who's in charge of the section your question is related to

Example: Vineet wants to learn about a merit badge. But he doesn't go to the Scoutmaster. He goes to the Advancement Chair to ask about merit badges. You only go to the Scoutmaster for blue cards and certain requests. If you do not know whom to go to, please talk to your Patrol Leader.

Outings

Always be on your best behavior on outings. You are wearing a Scout uniform and are a representative of the entirety of the Boy Scouts of America.

Electronic Communications

Scouts are encouraged to communicate for themselves, as against parents writing for the Scouts.

Google Group is to communicate with a larger audience. Please keep the messages relevant and refrain from using  group messages meant for a single person or a small group of people.

Two-deep leadership applies to electronic communication as well. Communication between a non-parent adult and a Scout MUST include another adult on the e-mail or any other form of electronic communication. Adults receiving messages from Scouts with no other adult on the copy are NOT to respond to (even to acknowledge) the message.

If a Scout does not have his own e-mail account, and needs to use the parent's account to communicate with another Scout, it is considered to be a communication between a non-parent adult and a Scout. Please follow the above instructions to meet the two-deep leadership guidelines.

Other

Only the senior patrol and some approved scouts can sign off requirements. Example: Rahul needs a Tenderfoot requirement signed off. He can't go to one of his friends that are 1st class or Star. He needs to go to someone in the senior patrol to get the requirement signed off. The same rule of a scout having to be two ranks above the rank he is signing requirements off for applies.
